Nef lets the audience know that Chagall said he still has a lot of unfinished artwork to complete. The 3rd and last part of this program is a colloquy. Again, through another translator, Chagall’s words are translated. Chagall said his life’s purpose is art. Chagall said any man could be a bad artist but that no man can be an artist unless he is in fact, a good man.

Thor Heyerdahl, an adventurer and ethnographer, discusses his newly published book, "The Ra Expeditions." He talks about his adventures sailing from Africa to South America on the ships "Ra" and "Ra II" which were made from papyrus. Heyerdahl explains the trial and error he had getting the papyrus reeds, building the ship, and sailing. Briefly the two discuss environmental concerns with the ocean. Heyerdahl also talks about ancient peoples and their cultures and technologies they used. Near the end of the interview Thor reads a passage of his book.

Interviewing guests at the Institute of Design memorial in Crown Hall on the campus of the Illinois Institute of Technology. The student work on view is a collaboration between the Schools of Architecture and Planning, and the Institute of Design.

Studs Terkel travels to a Yurt shepherd's farm commune to hear the old song ballad of a Mongolian hero. It concerns a slave uprising from 200 years ago and shows the unity of the Mongolian people. Terkel compares this music to the Hungarian legacy before moving to the School of Story Telling and School of Music and Story Telling in the capital of Inner Mongolia, Hohhot. We are introduced to the four string hu that played Homeric ballads of drinking songs that could last four days.

Studs Terkel discusses the changing role of feminism, women and rights with author, Signe Hammer, also a teacher of a Women's School in New York that caters to women aged 24 through 78 that are seeking information on new ideas of identity. Signe Hammer interviewed three generations of women to explore the importance of supporting womanhood and how Mothers must have a strong sense of self in order to see their Daughters as also having value.

Studs Terkel discusses the transportation of students for school integration with psychologist Thomas J. Cottle. The main topic of conversation is Cottle's book, "Busing" (1976, Boston, MA, Beacon Press). Terkel and Cottle discuss busing in several cities, focusing on Boston, MA, where Cottle did his research and writing. They each read passages from the book, and discuss the relationship between busing and racism in America.
