The education topic is full of deep discussions with teachers and students as well as school administrators and people who studied the history of education or advocated for policy changes. Studs also sought out people who were experimenting with new models of schools and alternative ways of teaching and learning. He visited schools around Chicago and on trips to places like England, Denmark, South Africa and China. Implicit in all of the programs on education is a conviction that a democracy is only as strong as its schools.
