Author, grassroots organizer, and activist Linda Stout discusses her book “Bridging the Class Divide and Other Lessons for Grassroots Organizing.” Growing up in a low-income family, Stout discusses poverty as “the lack of knowing about options” and how this served as the driving force in her activism. Jennifer Davis, Bill Sutherland, and Zola Zembe discuss the South Africa and their experiences with apartheid. Jennifer Davis grew up in the white middle class society of Johannesburg, whereas Zola Zembe, a native black man who lives in Capetown. They, along with Bill Sutherland, an American who works as a Representative for the American Friends Service Committee, talk about the changes that need to made and how American people and companies can help. An earlier interview of Carl Douglas Fuchs is also played.

Sister Betty Campbell and Father Peter Hind discuss their missionary trips to Latin America. They talk about their time in Peru, Brazil, and El Salvador and working against difficult governments to help struggling people. They also recall some of violence they witnessed or heard about during the El Salvador Civil War, including the execution of four American missionary women.
