Former ex-nun Mary Harding was accused of being a part of a group that was going to overthrow the Bolivian government. At the first meeting with counsel from the American Embassy, Harding could barely walk because she was kicked and punched over and over for information. As the assistant bishop in California, Edward Crowther believed his job was to help the poor and to help all the people who were not a part of the church. Crowther explained many people left the church and he wanted to bring them back. Crowther wants people to think about the important role that theology plays in their lives.
