Chicago humorist and newspaper columnist for the Chicago Daily News, the Chicago Sun-Times, and the Chicago Tribune, Mike Royko, goes over his past writings. Reflections include Royko's daily column, which covered race relations, politics, the Chicago Cubs, and life in Chicago. Together, Lois Baum and Studs Terkel read one of Royko's articles aloud.

Author-journalist Mike Royko's book, "I May Be Wrong, but I Doubt It" includes 65-70 of Royko's past articles. Royko talks about how his columns come to life. Never having been one to sit in an office, he talks about going out into the world to get the story and to report the facts. In a rare turn of events, Mike Royko and Herman Kogan interview Studs Terkel about his book, "Division Street: America." Kogan is in awe of how Studs was able to get people to talk to him and give in-depth interviews. When asked by Royko, "What would you do if you were God?", Studs answered that he'd let man be man.

First half are Slats Grobnik tales; the second half features a variety of columns by Royko. Educator and author Mike Rose discusses and reads from his book “Possible Lives: The Promise of Public Education in America”. Rose focuses his discussion on public school educators that utilize innovative teaching methods to create inclusive environments for all students. Studs plays “Johnny Cuckoo” - Bessie Jones & Group (1961).

Mike Forrest, Beulah Garrick, and Donald Moffat discuss and read the writings of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. Forrest, Garrick, and Moffat are all cast members of "The Hostage," a play by Brendan Behan.

Mike Chosa discusses the struggles of Native Americans, namely poverty, during the protests at Belmont Yacht Harbor. Includes the recitation of an unknown poem about Native Americans. Includes Buffy Sainte-Marie's songs "Now That the Buffalo's Gone" and "My Country Tis' of Thy People You're Dying." Includes an interview of John Tortes "Chief" Meyers. Includes the reading of a Chicago Daily News article about the Native American occupation of Belmont Yacht Harbor.

Belgian-French pianist Michel Block discusses his career and accomplishments.

Michael Rosenberg Meeropol discusses his book, ""We Are Your Sons: The Legacy of Ethel and Julius Rosenberg," and talks about his life growing up in the shadow of the execution of his parents. He recalls his memories leading up to their arrest and trial and the legal battle for him and his brother, Robert, to be adopted. He also talks about growing up ashamed of his last name, but eventually coming to terms with his identity and starting the fight for his parents' exoneration.

Journalist and photographer Michael O’Sullivan discusses the IRA and civil strife in Northern Ireland. O’Sullivan plays several of his tape recordings, including news coverage clips and interviews with IRA organizers and Irish civilians.
