European correspondent and journalist Daniel Singer discusses the independently published magazine “The Nation” and French politics and government. Singer focuses his discussion on the 1995 strikes in France and the political and economic events leading up to and influencing these strikes. Editor and writer Abe Peck discusses and reads from his book “Uncovering the Sixties: The Life and Times of the Underground Press.” Peck discusses the social and political forces, such as the lack of questioning authority forces seen during this time, that drove the alternative press to formation.
