Studs was enthusiastic to push the limits of his audience’s and his own comfort by embracing experimental music on his radio show. Whether talking with experimental composers such as John Cage, Philip Glass, Oliver Knussen, Ned Rorem and Ralph Shapey or performers such as Laurie Anderson, Kronos Quartet, Frank Zappa and many others, surprise and delight in contemporary music was often part of the show.
