According to Kozol, homeless people are considered untouchables. Rachel wonders how can people raise money for starving people in South Africa when she contends, "We are the World," but people don't want to help the homeless right here in the states.

Refering to the song, "We are the World, " Rachel also asks how come people care so much for people they can't see? "We are the world, " says Rachel. "We live here, too".
