Studs discusses writing and acting with John Schultz, Paul Pekin, and six of their students: Alex Wayne, Linda Gilbert, Will Jackson, Dan Michalski, Bill Johnson, and Fred Game. The book, "Happy Days: My Mother, My Father, My Sister and Me," gives a lot of background about Shana Alexander's father, Milton Ager. A few of Ager's songs are played throughout the interview. Alexander also glosses over her time spent with Life magazine and with 60 Minutes.

Douglas Clayton's book, "Floyd Dell: The Life and Times of an American Rebel" is a biography of a well-known author of his time. Clayton pointed out what's covered in his book. Not only did Dell write a number of books, but he also wrote a play. He was also charged twice for his subversive literature. He worked for the WPA under FDR in 1935.
